Displaying Technician Name /License On Invoice SMOTGO
Question: In Michigan it is required for the tech name and license number be printed on the invoice. How can I do this? Answer: There is an invoice option that includes the technician’s last name. Just add the license number to the last name and use the invoice layout with the tech’s last name. See the instructions below.
First, add the license number to the technicians last name.
Then change to the original SMOTGO invoice with wide logo & tech.
The next time you print an invoice, it will display the technician’s last name with the license number.
Extra Blank Page is Printed Occasionally SMOTGO
Question: Why do some of my estimates and or invoices look like the one above where an extra sheet that is blank comes out.
Answer: All of the printouts from SMOTGO are generated by the Microsoft Reporting Service. We create the format, then the service adds all the info to create the printout each time a request is different. The service determines how many pages are produce depending on the amount of information is has to add to the printout. If there is one extra character or space than the first page can hold, then a second page is created. So even though we cannot see it, there is something on this second page. Even if it is just a extra space. We will continue to work on this to find a solution, but thus far, we have not been able to improve this.

Cost List Selling & Calculated Price SMOTGO
Question: What is the difference between cost, list price, selling price, and calculated price?
Answer: Cost is pretty straight forward, this is what the part actually costs you. List price is the manufactured suggested price for selling the part. Selling price is the amount you want to charge the customer for the part if you are not using a pricing matrix or there is not a matrix for that particular part / customer / vehicle combination. The calculated price is the actual price the customer is charged for the part. This is called calculated because it is calculated based on the way you have configured your pricing. This price could be different for every customer / vehicle if chose to set it up that way.
If you want to learn more about setting up a pricing matrix, see the video below.
